Pride and workmanship: a clever phrase used to convey the quality inherent in various manufactured goods. At Ascona Cabinets, we endeavor always to refine the definition of Pride in Workmanship by remaining in constant pursuit of ways to improve our craft.
One of our more recent improvements involved a sizable capital investment in computerized manufacturing equipment. Since its inception, 10 years ago, the standard of production and philosophy of business at Ascona has been to provide quality cabinetry at competitive prices. The introduction of this equipment has elevated that standard to a much higher level. True furniture finish quality is achieved by precision cutting, edging and boring. Dowels have replaced staples and screws as the principle means of assembly, which aside from the increase in cabinet strength they afford, provide true finish ends to every panel. This is particularly noticeable in our drawer boxes, which are completely free of the unsightly blemishes caused by pin or staple holes. Add to this a 1/2 " drawer bottom, lifetime warranted metal glides with nylon rollers and you have a drawer that is attractive, functional and virtually indestructible.
Intrinsic to every cabinet we produce is its rich, lustrous finish. Hand rubbing is the difference that provides a depth and warmth that is instantly noticed and appreciated. Every finished piece undergoes a series of careful steps, from the initial sanding to the final lacquer coat, designed to produce a finished product of unparalleled beauty. For our specialty finishes, only select grade materials are used. Among them are: oak, maple, cherry, chestnut, ash and hickory. Each is possessed of its distinctive character and only a hand rubbed finish can enhance that character to its fullest.
